1. The main problem was the inability to use consistent characters due to the limitations of PikaLabs. The model couldn't reproduce the same faces or bodies, and the characters kept changing.
Solution:
I created a universe in which Earth has been enslaved by an alien race. To control humans, they use the same methods we see every day: news manipulation, dictatorship, total surveillance. As a result, the two main forces in the story became the alien and human civilizations. The constant change of appearance became a natural part of this world — a reflection of instability and the pressure imposed by the occupiers and by the AI influencing their reality. The entire plot is built on this dynamic.
2. A strict time limit: in the early PikaLabs version, the maximum shot length was 3 seconds.
Solution:
This defined the editing style. The series took on the look of mid-20th-century documentary footage — fragmented, abrupt, tense.
3. Inaccurate prompt execution and frequent misunderstanding of commands.
Solution:
I decided to embrace the unpredictability — to use interesting or unexpected shots and integrate them into the narrative, letting the model's spontaneity become part of the story's structure.
4. Visual distortions, mutations, focus issues.
Solution:
I introduced myself into the narrative as the Creator and explained to the characters that their mutations and distortions were the result of the imperfections of the AI I use to simulate their world. Technical flaws became part of the mythology.
The film is built from limitations. Each constraint became a narrative decision.
